If you were faced with the decision to pull the plug on someone you know, would you do it?

I happened to have a conversation with my mom about this not too long ago and her opinion on the matter is: it's better to let them go, instead of holding onto them when they're basically in a vegetative state. She also stated that family members often hesitate, because then they'd be blamed and frowned upon as the one who decided to end the life support.

What are your thoughts on this?
