Pick whoever you feel comfortable with. We decided I would pick the godmother and my boyfriend would choose The Godfather. I don’t have siblings but he chose his brother while I choose a different one of my cousins each time ( I have 3 Kids) they are like my siblings but I wanted to give each of them a chance to be a god parent and they appreciated that

My sister in law chose me and her partners brother in law for God parents, so both picks were "outside" both families. Nobody seemed to mind, my husband certainly didn't.
