Asking someone to remove their tattoos?

My dad's been in and out of jail for nearly a decade. He recently informed me that he's going back again for 5 years. I absolutely do not care and do not want him in my life anymore as I have grown and have my own family now. My problem is he has my name and my daughter's name tattoo on his arm without my permission. I'm terrified he will go to prison with them, and since his crimes are often violence related, will mess with the wrong people and my daughter and I will be in danger. Is there a polite way to tell him to get rid of them? What should I do?... EDIT: thanks for the feedback, even the harsh words. If I told you his name you could Google him and see all the media surrounding his charges. Some articles even mention me, that's why I'm worried.
