RAW diet for pit bulls?
Does anyone follow this? Is anyone a pro at this?
I decided to get the dogs beef bones (minus the poor lil toothless chihuahua)... and while making sure cow was what I’m supposed to get, I saw it could help with skin allergies.
I have a chihuahua, two beagle mixes, and two pit bulls.
The chihuahua, Beagles, and the big boy pit all have food allergies & I have to have expensive kibble. I’ve attempted raw diet with the other group of 5 I had and I just couldn’t keep up.
I want to attempt it again with the big boy pit, especially since he loves his bone. His “sister” pit has bone cancer so I wanna do healthy things for her diet, but she looks scared of her bone today 🤨
My dad unexpectedly died a week ago today, and we had donations of food and dog food included. I had to give my dogs ol’ Roy for a week and holyyyyyshitttttt y’all the SORES that popped up on my big boy pit are AWFUL. There is one on his neck, his hind leg, and his ears are bothering him again. It looks like something tried to attack him. I know that brand is absolute shit, but wow. It was IMMEDIATE and overnight and it’s made me wanna dismiss any type of kibble for him all together.
Can anyone give me any pointers to make this easier? Would essentially making “meal preps” for him be the best thing to do? Ive never had to plan a raw diet for a dog this big (70-ish lbs) so I’m dreading how much this is gonna cost me 😖... but it will be worth it to prevent his sores and chronic yeast-y ears (& gas).
Are there proper guides out there to explain what bones and organs would be best for him/his breed/his weight?
Here he is with his bone. Every time I look at him he rattles the crate wagging his tail 😂
