So I am having a missed miscarriage. I should be close to 9 weeks, but fetus stopped growing at 6 weeks..

The doctor gave me 3 choices, to wait naturally, to take misoprostol, or to do a d&c.;

I told her I wanted the d&c;, but then to find out that it’ll be in clinic, and so they will not be putting me under general anesthesia.

They will me giving me Ativan for anxiety, Norco for pain, and a local anesthetic at the cervix for numbing. With this, I will be awake for the procedure.

Most of what I’ve heard, d&c; is done under general anesthesia. I told my doctor I want to do it in the hospital, but she said the wait will be weeks.

My question is, has anyone here gone through a d&c; awake?

Or maybe I should just take misoprostol.. though I’ve heard terrible things about the drug.

I don’t know what to do! Losing a pregnancy is already sad enough, and these options doesn’t make it any easier..
