My daughter is a sophomore in high school. I will tell you the same thing I told her, relationships complicate most situations. Focus on school, friends, and the occasional crush. Sex will come, boys, drama, girls, whatever will come. No need to rush. I had my daughter as a teen. I got pregnant the very first time I had sex. (yep, lol let that sink in)

Sex can wait, trust me.

I definitely think you should wait. When I was in highschool I had a boyfriend that I thought I wanted to give it to. Think about it this way, you’re subject to so much change in highschool. Your values will change, your outlook will change, your wants and needs will change, so why risk having sex now if you’re likely to regret it later after you’ve changed? And if you still want to give it to this person after highschool then at least you will have saved yourself the risk. I had a boyfriend in highschool that I would’ve had sex with but I didn’t want to risk regretting it, and looking back, I DEFINITELY would have. I waited and had sex in college. I’m still with the guy and we’re planning on a life together. It was worth waiting!

Hi hun! I’m 23, in college - starting a career, still with my 1st love of 8.5 years (its been rough at times so its not all roses and butterflies like most would believe.) 
He was my first, and I don’t ever regret it. But I would recommend waiting if you’re under 16. First time is a BIG deal, and you want it to be special with someone you truly love- not some guy you lust for. If you’re still eager to against what is advised, at least be responsible about it and use a condom. 
My reasoning for advising you to wait is per what my aunt always told me “what you want when you’re 15 may not be what you want when you’re 25.” and while I am lucky enough to still have my first love, everyone isn’t always that lucky.

I didn’t want to bother with this kind of stuff then because I know how emotionally attached you can get to someone once you give your body to them. I waited for my husband and I have ZERO regrets! I hear nobody say they regret waiting, except for the clumsiness of inexperience. We were clumsy and awkward at first but it was so enriching for us to figure it out together (he was also a virgin until we married). But I do hear many regrets from a lot of people who didn’t wait for the one they’d spend their life with. Hope that helps you make your decision!
