natural labor?

ladies please explain to me as best as you can how was natural labor with no medication? with my first I had the epidural, sitting the the position they had me in was awful. my back and neck was killing me. plus the epidural didn't work in my right side so I still had contractions there. I want to do natural this time. I wanna walk through the pain if I can but I would like advice from you ladies who have been through it😃

It’s a pain unlike anything I’ve ever felt (or will probably ever feel). Transition and the ring of fire are no joke! I just kept telling myself that I can do anything for 5 minutes, then I would tell myself the same thing for the next 5 minutes....and I did that until my daughter was born. I totally ended up losing track of time and I literally have no idea how long I was in transition or pushing. You can do it!

I just gave birth to my son on March. 30th and I did it all natural, my mom was there and she helped a lot.. kept me laughing the entire time despite the pain. I was in labour for 27.5 hours and pushed for 1 hour.. I just kept on walking and walking, wouldn't sit down once. When a contraction hit I'd just breathe. it's hard but it helps A LOT. Remember to breathe!! I enjoyed being able to walk outside, that kept me sane the whole time. When it comes to pushing, for me pushing hurt a hell of a lot more than the contractions. Chin against your chest and push hard! Lots and lots of controlled breathing, focus on your breathing. You can do it! It hurts a lot but it's so worth it, I enjoyed being able to get up and do what I want instead of laying in a bed. Don't focus on if you can't do it, say you can and you will. I didn't even consider an epidural, I didn't think about it once despite the pain. Good luck 😊

I mean, it hurt, but it wasn’t soul-crushing pain. My baby wasn’t all the way in position (she was actually transverse until right around transition), so they wouldn’t let me walk or stand to prevent possible cord prolapse. I was pissed, because laying down was way less comfortable, but oh well. My husband pushed on my lower back during contractions. I’m told I fell asleep between them sometimes. The worst part about pushing was the nurse and doctor yelling at me for doing it wrong. I only pushed for maybe ten minutes, so I don’t know what the problem was... 🤷‍♀️ I honestly don’t remember the ring of fire. I don’t know if it’s because my baby was so little (only 4lb 8oz), or if my brain just decided not to store that information. I felt great the second she was out though.

I'm interested to know too with my first I also had an epidural that didn't work as it should only one side worked and I hated that I wasn't able to move around all I wanted was to be on my hands and knees so this is now my second and I would love to go natural and be able to even do a water birth but I'm scared too

I went through my entire labor. (All the way to ten cm) with no pain meds, but ended with a c section so I can’t help with the actual pushing part. It hurts. it’s survivable but it hurts. Once you get close to pushing the contractions are right on top of each other so it’s hard to catch your breath for a second and relax before the next one hits. I’ve always read that labor hurts worse than actually pushing baby out, but idk. My sister says the feeling of relief afterwards is all worth it!

It’s hard to describe. It hurts and is exhausting. Having a good support system is essential. During the last few centimeters you start to think irrationally, or at least I did and have heard that others have too. Things like wanting to leave the hospital, etc. For me, I just couldn’t figure out how in the world I was going to be able to do it. I asked for an epidural near the end, but thankfully they delayed giving me one. At least when the irrational “I can’t do this” thoughts start it’s almost time to start pushing. The pushing was honestly easier because you can actively do something during the pain instead of just trying to ride it out. 
My suggestions would be 1. Make sure your birth team fully supports you. I couldn’t have done it without my husband encouraging me and holding my hands through every contraction. I also had a doula, who was invaluable in talking me through it. 2. Be sure to drink and/or eat something throughout to keep your energy levels up. I was exhausted by the end and ended up getting IV fluids (part of the delay after I asked for the epidural) and felt so much better after I had them.
The sense of accomplishment after was awesome, and I also felt great after. I wasn’t woozy and didn’t need help going to the bathroom, etc. Little guy wasn’t so little either, 9lb 2oz, 22 inches long, 14 inch head and he was delivered with one arm across his neck with his hand by the opposite ear.
If everyone is healthy and there aren’t any medical problems, I would definitely encourage you to do it! It’s hard, but so worth it!

With my first, everyone asked me if I’m going to get the epidural. And I’m like hell nah!! 😩😱 Even the doctor at the hospital was like we’ll see about it because 9/10 people who said they aren’t betting the epidural end up getting it. Well I DID NOT get the epidural. 
What I did is I just breathe in and out through my contractions even though it was helllllaaa painful ! But I had to strong and push through the pain. Oh & that pain medication through the IV didn’t work for me and all it made me was feel drowsy, sleepy, and nauseous as hell. 🤮
