I know this is a bit of a stupid question and I'm not sure that I'm in the right group but it's driving me crazy! 
I also think about "button" or "buttin" a lot 🤦🏽‍♀️

The correct spelling and pronunciation would be the first choice. But of course if you consider different languages and accents in the US,  or abroad  some people may say it in a different way. But hey it never hurts to seek the correct spelling and pronunciation of a word. 🤷🏽‍♀️☺️

I enunciate it out well now because my boyfriend used to tease me that it sounded like I was saying imported. Always made me laugh when I was trying to talk to him about something serious,  I'd be like,  this is important! and he'd go, oh where is it imported from? so now it's kind of a joke and I pronounce it precisely
