Do you think bisexuality is more of a gender binary or is it more inclusive?

I've recently started struggling with my sexuality. I had so many questions and little answers. I had been a self identified bisexual since I was 15. I am now 21. I had grown to love my sexuality and love myself in spite of having little support from family. Now after having more experiences with more people on this app and outside of my little bubble, it just doesn't fit. So I talked to some people and they advised that bisexuality can be more inclusive than what's on the surface, but they also suggested pansexuality. I've been giving it a good go and I enjoy it. I feel more free.

Recently I've stumbled across an article from a woman who was having the same struggle with bisexuality that I was having. She hated labels, would never label herself a bisexual because it just wasn't inclusive to her and it was very gender binary. She later found that it was inclusive, "bi" actually means attraction to one's own gender and others and fit her just right. She now wears that label freely and openly. So she took a different route than me and decided it was more inclusive than she first perceived it to be.

Needless to say I'm questioning it again so I decided to bring it to CC. My head is spinning. I have more questions than I do answers. Its entirely overwhelming so I wanted other people's opinions on what bisexuality means to them. This is NOT me asking other people to define my sexuality. This is NOT the place for homophobia, biphobia, or any other phobia. I will report phobic comments. This is simply a discussion/debate on what bisexuality means to everyone.
