How will u be with your kids?

What are some things that you’ll do or are doing differently than your parents did with u? For me, I’m very affectionate with my daughter. I kiss on her hundreds of times everyday, tell her how beautiful she is & smother her with hugs. Things I didn’t get growing up

The number one thing for me is that I want to parent together as equals. I want our children to have as much good memories with me as with him,  to grow up in a happy and respectful household and to have a good male role model.
I grew up in a household where my mom did everything and my dad worked. This meant he worked, and at home he had all the authority but didn’t do anything for my mom and for us. My mom had a very very hard time. He loves us in his own way, but I have few memories with my dad when we had fun or when he took care of us. Most memories I have of him from my childhood are him being moody, disrespectful to my mom, disciplining us in an very authoritative way and I always promised myself I would do it differently. 
He still puts himself first most off the time and has a hard time empathising, but I know now how to interact with him and I will not let him disrespect me in any kind of way like he did back then (and still does) with my mom. He is a complicated man. I learned from them that I would only accept a man that would treat me with the respect that I deserve and could be am example for my children.
My SO and I chose that I could be a sahm for a few years, so between 9-5 he works and I take care of everything in and around the house and our children. I try to do as much as possible, and after working hours we do everything 50/50. (For example, I cook and he cleans afterwards, he showers our daughter and I put her to bed, he takes the trash out and I put a new bag in the garbage can, or vice versa, etc) 
Most importantly, because there is less household work to do after working hours and in the weekends, he gets to spend more quality time with our daughter and soon to be here baby. I love to see him with my daughter, she adores hem. I love him giving a good example when things are not going his way (no screaming or yelling), I love how he comforts her and how he takes care of her, I love him for everything that he does for me and how he takes care of me in general. I love his optimism and perseverance. This is the man that I want my children to have as a role model. This is the way how they should be treated by a man and if we get a boy this time (I’m due in 4 days), he will see and know how he should treat a woman when he is older.

I breastfed longer, didn’t smoke while pregnant or nursing, I didn’t have a medicalized birth..... just some things I did differently from the get go... my mom was a great mom, other than the cigs but It  was the 90’s lol. If I’m half the mom she is I’ll be so grateful.

I don’t spank, I was but I’m not doing it. My husband and I don’t argue in front of our girls.
