Renting? Buying? Help!!!

How do I make the decision to rent or buy a house? How did you? How did you first start saving, what are the pros and cons of each? 
Also, how the hell do you get a loan...? I don’t have parents and they never taught this stuff in school...

I researched a lot online and talked with mortgage originators at my bank to discuss my lending options.

I rented for about a year after college but then realized I’d only be paying about $50 more per month to own. I’d highly recommend owning if you can afford it and are sure of the area where you’d like to live for at least a few years. You can meet with a loan officer at the bank and they’ll look at your finances and help you know how much of a loan you could afford based on what you earn.
