Do people who go on singing shows like the Voice know that they sound as bad as they do or are they completely oblivious?

I’m only talking about the bad ones! There is some really amazing talent on these shows and I’m not stealing their thunder at all. It takes a lot of courage to get up there but some seem way out of their depth. 
Why do these ones get up there? If your friend/ family member was a terrible singer would you say something to them before they went on a show like this?

Some shows are rigged. They alter the sound. A choir from my hometown went onto X factor and a few people my parents know went to see it live. This choir have won awards and are good. They edited the audio on the show and even cut out the judges positive comments that people witnessed when they were physically there and completely humiliated them. Don’t trust everything you watch on TV. Its for entertainment purposes.

I’ve never seen a really bad audition on the voice but like got talent and X factor are brutal lol. I think they really haven’t a clue.

I think some people do know and are just looking for 5 minuets on camera. Especially since if you’re epically bad, you can become famous.
Others are delusional and think they’re really amazing 🤷‍♀️

A lot of talent shows specifically allow these bad acts to make it through several rounds so that they can draw in more viewers since they know people do like to watch bad acts sometimes. It’s why even tho AGT has many rounds before televised rounds you’ll see these terrible acts making it through. All of the “buzzing” in objection to it is fake, they let them in so people will get a laugh out of it and then feature it in one of their “Worst AGT auditions” YouTube videos on the official AGT channel a month later. There are ppl out there who are genuinely disillusioned tho about their singing ability.

Some people are oblivious, you sound different to yourself than you do to outsiders, but most people do it for their 15 minutes of fame, they know shows purposefully put really bad people on the show for entertainment value

They sing better than me and have the guts to go on TV. So, I don’t hate on them 🤷🏻‍♀️. My husband is tone deaf, but he loves singing, and I love seeing him happy. He knows he can’t sing though, so he won’t be auditioning anytime soon.

I don’t really think there are bad singers on The Voice. This season of American Idol convinced me that the awful people are casted and playing a role. But I think it mostly depends. Some people think they are great and their family encourages that. Others likely do it for attention because even negative attention is attention.
