Stopping Zofran - When Does Constipation End?

Question

I’ve been on Zofran for about 4 weeks, half pill twice a day, but feel like I’m overall feeling much better, to the point where the constipation pain outweighs the benefits of no nausea. I was mainly taking it because nausea triggers anxiety attacks for me, but my morning sickness was mild compared to what I’ve heard from many women. 
My question is, for anyone who took Zofran and experienced severe constipation, how long after your last dose did you experience relief and return to normal bowel movements?

The constipation never ends 😂😂Zofran or not. (I’ve never heard of Zofran making anyone constipated) My OB told me to take a colace everyday (I don’t take them everyday, just when I really need them)

I have not taken Zofran often but I have terrible constipation all the time - it seems like something that is just going to happen to me constantly during pregnancy 😩 You can always check with your ob as to what you can take for constipation. I find that most solutions do take a few days to work.

Early on, I needed the Zofran just to be able to keep down food and not puke 10 times a day. After about 20 weeks, I was only puking once a day so I weaned myself off the Zofran. For me I started pooping regularly again in a few days. My doctor asked why I don't bother with the Zofran any more. The constipation actually makes me more nauseous than my HG does! With my HG I will puke once a day a couple times a week. With the constipation I am nauseous and backed up all day every day! 😣

I don't remember how long I was on it in the first trimester, but honestly, my bowel movements never got better without intervention. I've had to keep taking stool softeners, and I still do being 34 weeks pregnant. I think it's just a part of pregnancy.

Not sure if it’s related to the Zofran break, but 24 hours is my answer. 24 hours since the last half dose.

I just got my thyroid test results back and turns out my TSH is 4x higher than it was pre-pregnancy meaning my thyroid function is super low. Turns out that’s probably contributing to this problem so hopefully I get dosed up on Levothyroxin tomorrow.

Constipation is a side effect of zofran, so It may continue unless you stop taking the medication. Try laxatives.

Never experienced constipation with it I’ve never even heard of constipation being a side effect.. it’s more likely the iron in your prenatal is causing it as that’s really common.
