UK people do you always tip?

I have seen a hel of a lot of posts about tipping and generally they are quite annoying to me (I am sure some will agree). Now I know in America waiting on staff are not paid a proper wage due to tips I am not sure about other fields such as hairdressers and manicurists. But in the UK they are paid a good wage or at least minimum wage. Now I tip when there is a big group, I tend to round up the bill then split it, hairdressers I do not, I augh with my mate, she is a hairdresser and I say to her I save lives and we earn the same. I am not slagging off her job, but she earns a good wage so no i do not tip hair dressers and i will still go out for a cheap lunch if I can just cover my food bill!
