Crib or Bassinet?

This is my 4th pregnancy and I've always used a small crib or Bassinet. I thought about just using a regular crib this time around since I don't have bunch of money to spend on much right now ( this was not planned this time). I know a friend who used a regular crib in her own room but I want to know what you all think.

If you have the space for a full size crib in your room, and you’re not having a c-section, then I don’t see why that wouldn’t work perfectly! It’ll save you money in the long run, and you won’t have to worry about the transition later. Crib mattresses are more comfortable anyway.

Bassinets and cradles generally only hold up to 15lb safely. I think it's a ridiculous waste of money.

thank you all for the input. I have a regular crib already set up in her own room which is literally right next to my room. I plan on getting a video monitor to watch her because I plan to keep her door closed so our cats don't try to get in the crib with her.

Regular crib. Only issue is if you do end up with a csection than that would be difficult and a bassinet would be helpful. I never planned for csection,  it it happened  and was so grateful for my bassinet

I used a regular crib in my room with my oldest (and believe me when I say it was a TINY room) and I use a regular crib in my room now with my youngest but my room is MUCH bigger now. Personally I think bassinets are a waste of money (just in my opinion). Neither of my kids were planned so I didn’t see the need to buy something I could only use for a very short amount of time anyways. I paid 170 on sale for my oldests crib and Im using it again for my youngest. So it’s lasted almost 3 years and it turns into a toddler bed so if my youngest needs to transition before my oldest is ready for a twin bed then I won’t have to go buy another toddler bed.
