Nipple cream?

I am due in 2 weeks.  A chiropractor friend told me I should start using lanolin now to desensitize and make breastfeeding easier.  Has anyone done this in advance? Does it help?

I never used this stuff and I have never had cracked nipples or anything. If they get sore after breastfeeding, express a little milk and make sure it covers your nips and let it air dry. Works wayyyy better.

I use boob ease. I never thought to use it before the baby was born...that might have helped a bit! Expressed milk never worked for me and I developed mastitis pretty quickly with my first one and I didn’t nurse but 6 weeks TOPS!

I can definitely see that as being beneficial because I believe I read somewhere that lanolin cream is supposed to be used to prevent nipple injuries.

i have been using it since i found out i was pregnant (currently 34+3) and ill say that its a god send. It smells kind of interesting but it really helps with the peeling, chapped-ness, and tenderness even before the beat down of breast feeding.

I started using lanolin about a month before my first kiddo was due. Not sure if it helped or not since she was my first. But I never had cracked bleeding nipples. And she had horrible latch issues and i was in tons of pain. But no bleeding or cracking. So maybe it helped. It can’t hurt at all. I say do it. I’m due in 1 mo with my second and I’ve already started using it
