Birth story❤️

I’m a little late doing this but wanted to write it out so ill always remember the details. Around 2am on March 14 I woke up with mild contractions which was pretty normal for me. I got up, drank some water and went to the bathroom. I fell back asleep for a few hours and then at about 8 am I noticed my lower back was hurting for the first time and I was still having contractions but by this point they were more painful and I had to squat down through every one of them. I texted my mom & grandma to let them know what was going on and they both suggested going to the hospital to get checked. However, I refused because I didn’t want to be sent home in false labor. I walked down the road around 11:15 and before I got back home my contractions were about every 3 minutes. But still, being the hardheaded person I am, I didn’t want to go to the hospital. I called my dr and asked if I could just come in to her office and get checked, but since I was exactly 40 weeks they told me go to the hospital. At 12 pm I got to the hospital with contractions every 2 minutes. My sister got me all checked in while I got rushed back to labor & delivery. As soon as the nurse got the monitors on me she checked me and said I was 3-4 cm dilated & 100% effaced, and if I started hurting bad call her in there, but if not she’d check me in 2 hours. Not even 30 minutes went by and I said I needed her, but they made me wait 15 more minutes. When she came back in I was dilated to a 5. I asked to get up and walk around and found that the only thing comfy was the portable toilet seat chair thing. I sat on that with a friend pushing my hips in through every contraction until it was time for my epidural. At this point I was in so much pain that I was screaming at nurses and just wanted this baby out. I didn’t feel the epidural at all and it was so relieving but the medicine made me itch like crazy. All mine and my boyfriends family was in the room and then at 7 pm I just felt the need to be alone and kicked everyone out except my boyfriend, my mom, and my grandma. Once everyone got out I just knew it was time. Nurses rushed in, I started pushing and 23 minutes later the love of my life entered this world❤️ I love my little due date baby, Jonah Reyes 💙 March 14, 2018 7 lbs 10.5 oz 19 inches
