Fertile Days

Anyone ever have LH surge (on opk) that is days before you even start having fertile mucus signs? This month I had a strong positive on opk on CD14. Thus BD’d CD14 and CD15 (also had a CD12 in there too), but EWCM didn’t show until CD15-CD17 with CD17 seeming to be the peak. Confused because LH surge would’ve been 4 days before the peak EWCM day which I think is too far out (since I’ve read that ovulation occurs 12-48 hours max from LH surge day). So which one is a better predictor? Any opinions?
