Birth Control... HELP!

So, I am currently thirteen years old. I know young... and you’re probably wondering why my question title is related to birth control. Well you see my boyfriend and I talk about sex. 90% of the time, it’s jokingly. But that other 10%, crosses BOTH our minds. What if we did have sex? Today my best friend and i were talking about birth control and how her and her boyfriend also talk about sex. (We’re both virgins) And we both sorta want to be put on birth control. Because you never know what could happen! I talked to my boyfriend about it and he was scared that my mom wouldn’t like him. Because it’s basically telling my mom “oh yah, me and my boyfriend are gonna fuck, I need birth control.” I’m more leaning towards the pill. I feel like that’s the easiest, however I’m aware it’s not the most effective out of all the methods.

Should I talk to my mom about it? Or will she spaz out?! Yikes! When did you get birth control of you have it?!
