YOUR birth story?

Question

So im a first time mom, due June 16. My family is all back in California while I live in Florida and if early labor happens (hopefully not but things happen) my family wont be here to support me in labor. So Im just wondering what labor was like for you?
C-Section? Natural? Vaginal? Water birth? Home birth? Everything. I just want to know some experienced mothers’ stories. Im super excited but I want to know what happens from even before the water breaks, like if you had some signs and what the overall experience for you was like, good or bad. I just want to be mentally prepared for anything.

Hey coming form Guam! I had my baby boy in December at the navy hospital here. Had him vaginally, with the epidural. I was so terrified of giving birth especially so far from home (I’m from Georgia) and this is my first! My due date was December 17 I got membranes swept on the 15th. Let me tell you that shit HURT. Some people have no issues with it tho. Anyways, I started having contractions on and off the next day and then on my due date, they really kicked up. By 6pm that night I knew I had to be in labor cuz I was timing them and they had gotten to be 6 mins apart lasting for a minute or so. I held myself off going to the hospital as long as I could but at 3am after not being able to sleep through it anymore, we went and they checked me and I was 6cm and leaking water so I got admitted. I wanted to try all natural but lord.. nope I was like “when can I get dat epidural shit” and I got it like 2 hours later. Everything was fine til my water broke at noon on the 18th and then all hell broke loose. My baby’s heart rate kept dropping with every contraction so they had me turning all sorts of ways, on my hands and knees, gave me a shot to stop contractions then gave me pitocin to start up again. They thought I might have placental abruption cuz I was bleeding a lot. They had a shit ton of people on stand by to take me for an emergency c section but luckily it didn’t happen. They made me start “practice pushing” around 130 cuz I still had a small lip on my cervix. I had to have oxygen between pushes to help mine and baby’s HR and I kept passing out between. I finally got that sucker out at 358pm tho. All in all, it honestly wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be. I mean it was scary, but I got through it and he got through it and I felt so strong. And I was up and walking around fine after the epidural wore off. Good luck to you! Don’t stress, don’t plan too much. It’ll happen the way it happens and as long as you and baby are safe, that’s all that matters. Natural, epidural, c section, breastfeeding, formula, circumcised, not circumcised... you’re a rock star mother.

I’m not hot much help . No matter what tried I still ended up getting induced. Smooth sailing from there though. This is my third boy I’m sure I’m getting induced again. Good luck

had unplanned, emergency c/s... this time doing planned c/s so my mom will be here on time. she lives in Michigan, and I'm in MD... she was couple days late when my son arrived.
