Life in 2007 ??

Question

I’m performing in in the heights this August and basically my director keeps reminding us all it’s set in 2007. The thing is I was about 6/7 years old then so I obviously don’t know what life was like for a 20 somethin person! If anyone can give me a bit of information about what life was like then I’d be so thankful, especially if you have any information on New York and any challenges immigrant might’ve faced at the time x

Facebook was just becoming available to those who didn't have a college email address (I remember starting college a year before and being excited that I could join FB).  I had a Motorola Rizr - those and Razrs were the IT flip phones around here, but Blackberries were still fairly popular at that time too. The Office and HIMYM were still in their prime. Transformers came out in theaters that summer, and it was hyped. Fashion hasn't changed drastically since then.  Miley Cyrus was still associated with wholesome.

Omg I graduated high school that year 😂 if you want to know anything specific sure...we still used msn, people used it on their computers because touch screen smart phones were or yet. People used t9 on flip phones but I got one with a keyboard that slid or and it was the coolest shit. Everyone had an iPod nano.
