My daughter is 4.5 months old. Breastfeeding has been going really well until recently. Now she pulls off about every 30 seconds to a minute. There have even been a few times where she pulls off and refuses to latch again. She just sits there and cries. I can usually switch sides but I have to keep doing it constantly. She really only eats well if I put her on my right side, she absolutely hates the left for some reason. I’m getting really discouraged and don’t know what to do. She’s having good wet and dirty diapers, but I don’t feel like she’s getting as much as she should be. She sleeps through the night, so we nurse about every 2 hrs during the day. I have started giving her purées, she seems much happier when she gets real food. I just don’t know what to do and am really contemplating switching to formula. My goal was 6 months or when her teeth come in but I don’t think we’ll make it. The reason I want to quit when her teeth come in is because of how much she pulls. She pinched my nipple between her tongue and top gums and pulls away while pinching. If anyone has made it this far, thank you and please give me some advice.
