Acne after IUD removal?

Before getting and while I had the Mirena IUD I didnt really have acne problems. But shortly after getting it removed my skin has progressively been getting worse. I getting cystic and white head acne everyday. It's been 9 months since I've had it removed. I was wondering if anyone else has ever experienced this too?

Me too girl! I had the hormonal IUD and I got it out early Feb, I’ve been increasingly having acne issues mainly cystic acne. Which really sucks... because it’s painful and deep ones which take ages to get rid of. I’ve currently got a tea tree oil gel which I dab on and it’s been helping but I’m actually going to see a skin clinic and get some peels or treatments, it’s not severe but it feels severe to me, if that makes sense? It’s in hormonal areas too. I hope yours clears up soon, I feel your pain!

Did you have a hormonal or copper IUD? If hormonal, it’s likely that your regular hormones are going back to normal and the iud was just keeping them balanced before. I went off the birth control pill a year ago and in the last few months, I’ve been noticing severe acne in the week before my period, which never happened while on the pill.
