Do you make people take their shoes off in your house?

So a friend recently brought this issue up on Facebook. It was a post about how only in the US do people wear their shoes in the house and a lot of people were commenting saying how it’s disgusting to do that and that they always ask other people to take their shoes off too.

My personal opinion on this is... it doesn’t bother me if people wear their shoes in my house. I usually just clean my floors after and I’ll throw my bathroom rug in the wash.

I honestly feel a little uncomfortable when I am asked to take mine off especially if I am not wearing socks. The way I see it is.. just because they don’t wear their shoes inside does not mean their floors are clean.

Also, if you’re having a nice party in your house and people are dressed up .. are you really going to ask everyone to take their shoes off? I was always brought up that your shoes are what make your outfit.

I also said that my opinion might change when I have a crawling baby in the house... but until then you are welcome to wear your shoes in my house. AND I will take my shoes off if I am asked to, but if I’m barefoot it would be nice to be offered some socks.
