Will amoxicillin affect my birth control pill?

I have a step throat and it’s very swollen and my mom is making me take amoxicillin. Will it affect my pill? I’ve had unprotected sex lately but I do take my pills so technically I am “protected” still.

Amoxicillin can mess with BC pills. Says so usually on the bottle. My son just came off Amoxicillin and it was in the drug information that came with the prescription

also sperm can live in you for 7 days so if you had sex within 7 days you may not be protected

it did for me. luckily i wasny having sex at the time. i was taking my pills correctly. finished my period on my pills. a week later ovulated and had another period. confirmed by my doctor amoxicillin made my birth control ineffective and made me ovulate. i did a pelvic exam to make sure the bleeding was a period. 2 periods in 3 weeks even tho its not listed as one of the antibiotics that can effect birth control. im catious and figure all antibiotics can effect them.
