BF & Formula ?

Ladies can anyone answer this for me . So lately I’ve started to produce less while pumping . Am due to go back to work after next week I’m afraid I won’t be able to pump enough to send to her with daycare everyday . Will it mess with her tummy if I breast feed at home and send formula to daycare with her ? Or send what I can do daycare for the day An when/if they run out they can use formula . Will she know the difference ? Idk how that works . If anyone can answer please An thank you ! 💜 LO is 5 weeks old today

Have you changed your pump parts? Membranes need to be changed monthly among other things. That could be why your output is less. 
But yes, many moms combo feed with nursing and formula. You may have to try some different brands to see what works with your baby because formula is harder to digest, it’s just a fact.

I was the same way! When I went back to work, I could barely pump anything (I switched parts, got new sizes etc etc)...
Every baby is different but i consider my daughter to have a sensitive tummy and she does just fine. She’s 11 months old, and I’ve been breastfeeding when I’m home, and formula when I’m not. (For like 5/6 months now)
The trick is the beginning trying to get them used to the taste. What we did is...let’s say my daughter drinks ~4oz. I would have 3 oz of pumped breastmilk, and mix 1 oz of formula separately and then mix them in together. Keep doing that for a few days and then change the ratio until you’re all formula for a bottle. (3:1, 2:2, 1:3, 0:4)
It helps them get used to the taste, and helps their tummy get accustomed to the change.

Totally fine to try! I went through this despite all attempts at increasing supply. People don’t get it if they don’t struggle with supply. I met with three lactation consultants, tried every supplement known, had hormone levels checked, etc. the pump and i just were not friends. I replaced parts and nothing changed. I nursed when I wasn’t working but my son had to eat when I was not home. So we did formula. I had to do formula supplements also after nursing because he wasn’t gaining weight. After nine months my supply seemed to be enough for him once he was eating more table food and I’m still nursing at 14 months twice a day. Do what works for you just don’t be nervous to try it and if you want to keep nursing too-good for you!

You’re not producing less, ur supply is just regulating. U could try power pumping to get more out while ur expressing. Introducing formula can potentially upset the tummy but it can be done

Honestly, it completely depends on the baby. My son had zero problems with breast milk or formula, so I gave him what we had when we had it. Other babies (such as myself back in the day 🤷🏻‍♀️) absolutely refuse formula. Yet others will have stomach problems with formula and be fine with breast milk. You will need to test formula out with your little one and see how he/she does.
