I wrote a poem

It's been years since you loved her and you let her go

Your heart grew a shield and it grew cold

You blocked her away so she’d be warm

But it didn't work because she still was in pain

Her heart was torn apart every single day

And there's something inside her

That just won't commence

Because her other half is missing

It's over a fence

Yes, she loved you

And were you just a liar?

Because you were the match

that caught her heart on fire

can you believe

after all these years

she still wears your necklace

and sheds the same tears

even though you never really cared, she couldn't stop herself from trying

her heart rose and sunk when you entered a room, it couldn't decide what to feel, she just knew she was crying

it felt like she was being flooded and it was getting harder and harder to breath,

she was drowning in her sorrows, literally.

it wasn't the first time

she got stabbed in the heart

but this time it was physical

her world was falling apart

yet it taught her that she'd have to learn to swallow her pride

and smile through the pain she felt inside

and even though her poisoned heart had killed her in the end

when she died

she swore

she'd do it all again.
