Anyone NOT Announcing?

This is my second baby and I rarely use FB/insta. We made a public/social media announcement when we had our first but it seems odd that after 2 years of no new posts to just pop on and say hey! I'm pregnant! I'm thinking I'll just tell people in person when I see them and let the Grandma's spread the word? Is anyone else NOT making an "official" announcement? Are you doing something else to get the word out?

We aren’t announcing on social media, mainly because we would like to keep babe off the internet if at all possible. We have called everyone that we want to hear it from us, and will let everyone else find out as they will. I don’t really care if friends I haven’t seen in 5-10 years know we’re having a baby or not 🤷‍♀️

No big announcement here.  This is my first babe - I am not active on social media. 
Going to start telling close family when I am in my 2nd trimester and I can’t physically hide it any longer. Will let word spread from there. 
I am actually looking forward to showing up to events etc rocking a bump and not saying a word. I wonder how long it will take for people to ask if I’m 🤰🏼.  Surely some won’t say anything at all, they’ll just think I got fat and won’t want to be rude hahahahaha 😂😂 looking forward to having fun with this - I’ve waited long enough!

I'm not. I don't think it will be good for my job and I'd rather call everyone individually when I am ready and in the order I am ready for them to know. Like you, I don't use Facebook much more than I need to. I think a text of an ultrasound picture is cool too for some people. Last baby I was able to record moving baby on us and that was fun to send out to family and close friends. My point is, social media allows for a lot of fun ways to announce but I think you can still do it in fun ways outside those channels. A lot of people don't announce, you won't be alone in that.

People who want or care to know will find out eventually by interacting with you, your family, or friends. I am indifferent about a Facebook announcement and obviously am too lazy to do a formal one via snail mail. Hah!

Don't plan to post on social media at all, but will announce to family and friends in person (or over the phone for my family in other countries). 
I'm a little nervous, however, about some family and friends congratulating us on Facebook and calling us out. I am not sure how to prevent it, but my husband and I have adjusted some privacy settings in advance so we can minimize the risk. Wouldn't want to inadvertently hurt someone's feelings if they found out that way!

I won’t be. I’ve told those who are important in my life and told them to not tell anyone else. I don’t feel like dealing with any unneeded drama. My boyfriends family won’t be happy, Some will say I’m too young, my family is really cultural and there a lot of cultural “rules” around being pregnant that I won’t be following and all my aunts will have a constant bunched panty. I’ve had a miscarriage so I really just want to enjoy this pregnancy

Hey! I’m not doing anything, this is our third pregnancy (lost our previous two) so are too nervous to “announce”. All our close family and friends know and we’ll just let word spread naturally. If you want to announce it though, who cares that you’ve not posted, shout it from the rooftops 😀😍

I don’t think I’ll announce on FB. I barely ever post there, just the occasional post of my kiddo for my family to see. Most of my family has Instagram and that’s where I post pictures of my son weekly so I feel like if I want to announce, it’ll be there with my son in a big brother shirt or something. I’ll be telling my family before the post so that’s not gonna be how they find out, except for aunts and uncles and stuff cause I’m only calling my mom/grandma. If my husband wants to announce on FB he can. He did last time when I was 20 weeks, I just announced on FB when my son was born last time and everyone who isn’t family was shocked.

I don’t have FB/IG but my husband does (but he rarely goes on). But we do have a lot of family that do go on, so we are just going to make an announcement with this third one so everyone knows.
