Keto diet on birth control

Is it possible to lose weight while being on the birth control pill & doing the Keto diet? My doctor wants to prescribe me a weight loss pill but I feel like it would be better for my body to just lose weight with diet and exercise ? I want to lose weight before getting pregnant so was considering getting birth control while i lose weight
