Which birth control?

Question

Hey ladies!! I think I want to switch my birth control from the pill to the IUD. I am very forgetful so I think the IUD may be better for me so I’m not missing as much pills but I am also nervous as I’ve only been on the pill for 7 years. 
Any stories or suggestions? Am doing my own research bu want to hear some real stories on it.

I was on the pill for 3 years and made a switch to the ParaGuard IUD a month ago. Best decision I could have ever made! The pill made me feel awful really messed with me. The IUD did hurt upon insertion I cramped for about a few hours afterwards, if you take some medicine before you should be fine. I spotted for 3 days then got my period it wasn’t any longer than it usually is when I’m on the pill I just bled a bit more not too bad though. I haven’t had any cramping since I had it inserted I really like it I suggest the IUD.

An iud is the most affective form of birth control besides abstinence. It is my first experience with birth control but I do not regret it, there are no accidents in which you can forget about it like the pill and it does NOT effect fertility like the pill can. Talk to your OBGYN for sure! Only thing I will say is insertion can be uncomfortable and painful (similar to period cramps) but it’s nothing Advil can’t fix! Plus it really makes your period lighter or even nonexistent.

I love my IUD. Only way you’ll find it if you don’t like it is if you try it. You can always get it removed.

My cousin got the iud and she was messed up for MONTHS! She said she was like constantly bleeding and apparently it’s kinda common. She also said it was excruciatingly painful to get it put in. Enough to make me never want one! 😂

Skyla IUD since July 2017. I still have periods but it has been the best thing ever since I was sooooo forgetful with the pill.
I just cramp a little worse than I usually did before but its completely bearable.

I used the patch, change it once a week and good to go. Didn't get pregnant until a year off of it. I'm not saying its 100% for everybody, but my now husband only pulled out 40% of the time. But I was on it because of my cramps mainly.

set an alarm on your phone to remind you to take your pill. the side effects of IUD always scared me, especially the risk of accidental miscarriage or permanent infertility.

My iud(paragard/copper) became infected and had to have it removed. It was causing horrible pains. I’m now on the pill and feel much better! But everyone’s bodies are different and react differently😊
