How long were you TTC before deciding to see a doctor?

I got the nexplanon taken out the first week of October. My the first week of November I found out we were expecting, only to start miscarrying the following week. We’ve been trying every month then and have an active sex life (normally every day or every other but no more than 3 days in between) and nothing so far. 😭 I have a 3 and 1/2 year old from a previous relationship and got pregnant with her after having unprotected sex once! I’m concerned that I might have PCOS due to some recent weight gain that I can’t seem to get rid of and when I had an ultrasound to determine if I was miscarrying to rule out an ectopic pregnancy the nurse said she though it was a molar pregnancy because it looked like there were cyst like structures. A molar pregnancy was ruled out. But it has be wondering. I always have regular periods and although they are normally heavy, they aren’t unbearably painful like I would assume they’d be with PCOS. When I had the nexplanon removed the dr said to schedule a visit in a year if I have no luck. Doesn’t that seem like a long time for a 23 & 24 year old to conceive? How far along non your journey of TTC were you before consulting with a dr?
