oh lord...

so today I went down to the basement to put my clothing into the dryer and I look over and my wall looks like this

yes my basement is unfinished but I was like what the heck. obviously there is a leak somewhere. I live in a townhouse complex. I tried running all taps and flushing all toilets but it didn't seem to be coming from my end. all of a sudden i hear running water from my neighbors house. almost sounds like someone is in the shower. I go running over and knock on their door ready to tell them they have a leaky pipe and it's coming into my basement and going over all of my electrical wires. no answer. so we call our condo board and they send someone out. there was water pouring out of my neighbors siding at this point. no one could get in contact with my neighbor so they send over a lock Smith to unlock the condo. turns out my neighbors had put in a unauthorized bathroom downstairs and the valve had cracked and was SPRAYING water all over the floor of their home. I saw it and it was like

and apparently their basement was FULL of water. turns out my neighbors are in Malaysia and still have no idea their house has flooded. but they are completely at fault and will have to pay for all repairs... including the repairs to our basement and the replacement of our electrical breaker box out of pocket. oh lord. I feel so bad for them. they have no clue.
