Nipple stimulation-our birth story (long)

So at 39w5d I was desperate to have my baby. The thought of being induced a week late really had me freaked out so I was willing to try anything. So I broke out my breast pump and pumped for an hour. Got some small contractions but not much else so husband and I went for a walk. When we got back I pumped for another hour doing 10 minutes on each breast with five minutes off in between. I ended up getting some pretty intense contractions about 4 minutes apart. Took a warm bath got into bed and pumped for 30 more. Turned everything off and tried to go to sleep. Nope painful contractions every 2-3 minutes for over an hour. Went to l&d; got checked in at 11:30pm 3- 4 cm dilated. Around 2:00 I was checked again and had not progressed in dilation but my waters were bulging. By 6:00am the midwife decided to admit me and said we are having this baby today. Fast foward. No epidural just some Iv pain meds (nubane) not checked again until 11:30. 6cm dilated and option to break waters. This is when it all got real. Contractions came one on top of the other and were the worst pain I’d ever experienced. Finally got to the point of pushing and no one ever talks about how difficult that can be. Ended up pushing over an hour after 19 hours of labor lightly medicated. Would I do it differently? Heck yes I’d take the epidural and run! But at the end of the day I had my beautiful baby boy and that’s what matters. Noah Wade 4-29-18 5:13pm, 8lbs 12.9oz, 21.5 inches long.
