Cholestasis?

Question

Has anyone actually had this with previous pregnancies?  I started itching last night but it’s not super intense. It’s like a dull annoyance. I don’t want to bother my doctor with a super rare disease if it’s nothing, but if it’s something I want to make sure we get my baby out safely before there are issues. I can’t find many first hand accounts of what it’s like. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Get blood work done ASAP. I have severe itching as well and I got blood work done just to check, still waiting on results.

I had cholestasis with my first pregnancy and you definitely want to mention as soon as symptoms show. Itching would mainly be on hands and feet.  And trust me the sooner you and your dr found out if you have it the better! I didn’t get diagnosed with it until exactly 37 weeks/hours before my induction! (I didn’t tell my dr my symptoms until about 35w and some days) and that was after many weeks of suffering and thinking it was nothing to mention. Better safe than sorry.

I have been having the cholestasis symptoms and did call my call doctor to go in for blood work to check. I would rather be safe and have a peace of mind for my baby's health. They had me come down and do blood work, my blood work came back with abnormal results but not with my liver, instead we found out my white blood cell count is low. I advise to go in and get checked out just to be safe.

Yes let your doctor know ASAP..the blood work to confirm takes about a week to come back so I would do it just to be on the safe side
