I was induced due to a low platelet count

I was induced due to a low platelet count. My dr office called me on Friday and told me that my platelets were 95 and wanted to induce me as soon as possible incase they dropped any further, hoping I'd be in the range for an epidural if needed. However, the hospital was very busy Friday and did not have open beds for an induction. I was on "stand-by" and waiting for a call to go in when they had an opening. I got a call around 730 Saturday night. When I got to the hospital my platelets were 85 which meant I was not allowed an epidural. I had already been contracting on my own for the last 2 days and was dilated to a 3 before arriving. They started my induction at 1030pm and labor progressed nicely for the next couple hours. Contractions were tolerable and barely even hurt. Around midnight they started to become painful. At 2 am my water broke and contractions were intense! The jetted shower was a life saver! I asked for the iv pain meds around 2. Around 4am I couldn't take it anymore and told my husband to grab the nurse because I had to push! She came in and said to lie down and we'll try to push. I asked her if she wanted to grab the dr?! And she said "let's just see where you're at" and I said ok! I pushed and she said to stop.. I said "no!" ?!? My son was on his way out. She ripped the cord out of the wall for help and a ton of people came in the room and she paged the dr but he didn't make it 😱. I pushed on my next contraction and the head was out. There was a midwife who happened to be near by that ended up "catching" him. She didn't even have time to put a gown on lol.

It was a crazy day and I am so blessed I had a fast labor and only a few minutes of pushing. I was worried with the induction I'd have to labor for days.

Milo was born 4:34am, 7 lbs 12oz, 21 inches. We're all doing great.
