How often do you and your husband have intercourse?

I hear lots of women talk in here and in my personal life how they don’t have much sex with their husband. Some say that they only do it on special occasions. That’s weird to me, as my husband and I do it 1-3 times a day. We’ve been married 1.5 years, and it doesn’t seem excessive to either of us, but the few times I confided to close friends how often we make love, they tell me I’m crazy. Are we in the norm? Or is everyone else I hear talking about only having sex occasionally the norm?

"normal" is relative. in my last relationship, we had sex 2 times a day sometimes more. in my current relationship we have sex a couple times a month. my life back then was very different and my partner was very different. it is what it is. i dont think people should feel like they always have to compare and size up to whatevers supposedly "normal."

It varies, but in the general range of 3-5 times a week. I could go years without 😂 but he has a higher sex drive so we kinda meet in the middle & it works for us.

Right now we only have sex once or twice a week, we both love having sex but this pregnancy has been so painful, everything I do gives me horrible pains. Before we used to have sex every night and sometimes in the mornings. During the weekends we used to hide from our toddler and baby to have a quick session... I miss that so bad!

I honestly think it depends on your lifestyle, age and how long you’ve been in the relationship. Once you have kids, having sex all the time can be difficult. Hormones also can change after pregnancy, so some women can experience a decrease in libido so they will have less sex. Also, I think in new, young relationships, having sex all the time is common because it’s still so exciting. But when you’ve been with someone for 10+ years, it’s common for the sex life to dwindle down because you’re more “used” to the person. So what’s normal to you can be different from others because everyone’s life style is different.  
In my situation, my husband and I lived apart while I was in college and he was stationed in a different state for the first 3 years of our relationship and marriage, so we had sex every day we saw each other. Then when I moved in with him, we had sex all the time. Maybe not multiple times a day, but definitely almost every day of the week. But ever since my first pregnancy, if I have sex every day, my private parts get too raw and it hurts (I didn’t even have a vaginal birth, I had a CS), even if I’m really in the mood. So I have to give myself a night or two off, to give my body time to heal. Honestly, my husband isn’t someone who wants to have sex every day anyways so this doesn’t bother him. 1-3 times a week is good enough for us and keeps us happy. We’ve been together for almost 10 years, we’re parents, we are pretty busy every day, so sex can be the last thing in our minds at the end of the day. We’re about to have another baby so I’m sure it’ll change to 1-3 a month, for awhile. 😉😝
