How to get 2 year old to drink water
My 2 year old (25 months) is ALWAYS saying she’s hungry. Like she will finish a whole meal then just repeat “eat” over and over and cry and scream if me or her dad has food. I’m certain it’s because she’s actually thirsty as I know you can be “hungry” but you’re actually just thirsty. She doesn’t drink. At all. She will have maybe half a sippy cup of water a day. We used to give her juice but stopped about 4 months ago. Ever since then, she stopped drinking. My husband would give her a cup of milk a day until about 3 weeks ago when I realized that she wouldn’t drink the water and would just wait until that cup of milk. So stubborn!
Anyways, I’ve tried fruit in it. It doesn’t work. She wants to eat all the time because she’s thirsty. I’m the same way. If I don’t drink, I eat basically all day. I just need tips on how to get her to drink. She doesn’t communicate too well right now so it’s hard. I’ve tried “if you drink your cup, you can have a snack” or something like that but she doesn’t understand what I’m saying.
I’m tired of her constantly freaking out because she wants to eat.
And yes, she’s eating enough and is getting enough nutrients. And she’s been to the doctor and she has no problems causing her to want to eat.
