Should I just keep trying naturally and assume nothing is wrong?

My husband and I went to a fertility doctor: he had a semen analysis and I had a pelvic ultrasound, vaginal ultrasound and a lot of bloodwork. Everything came back normal and results were great. 
Now the dr wants to do a hysteroscopy that altogether will cost $3,000 bc we haven’t met our deductible. We can’t afford this 😕
I’m at a loss. Do we keep trying naturally and not give up hope? If something was seriously wrong would we have found out already?

If you can’t afford the tests then keep trying naturally. All my tests came back normal. Fast forward 3 years and we are on our second round of IVF and no baby yet.

In this case is really up to you. Trust me, no one can really afford fertility treatments it is outrageous. For how long have you tried without success? Fertility is deeply complicated. The first few tests are kind of the tip of the iceberg. Looking at the first few tests and everything looks good versus the time you have been trying and nothing’s happened might be even a bigger question mark of what could be wrong?! It’s great that you are being positive and there’s hope, but also be aware of time, it is your worse adversary and whatever is  there to remedy it will be better now than later.

The rule is if you’re under 35 and have been trying for more than a year than you should see a specialist, if you’re more than 35 years old it’s 6 months. BUT, lots of my church friends couldn’t afford IVF and/or won’t do it cause it’s against their faith, almost all of them got pregnant eventually, some wait for 2 yrs, some 3, some even 5 years. Depends on how patient you are. 
If you can’t afford procedure, how about try acupuncture and herbal medicine? Some TCM clinics in Los Angeles even guarantee pregnancy if you religiously drinking their tea and their advise. Warning : their tea is disgusting lol.

After all these things and an HSG test I had exploratory laparoscopic surgery which is how my blocked Fallopian tubes were diagnosed. All of that was covered by insurance but IVF was not. The clinic filled out an application for a NYS grant for me, and it was accepted. The whole IVF with meds and monitoring only cost $1,700 including embryo storage for a year. There are other women I know who just kept trying (didn’t get other testing done) and eventually got pregnant. I think it’s worth researching if there are grants available to you and what you are capable/willing to do to be pregnant.

Ask for an hsg. It’s much cheaper, mine would have been $900 without insurance. And it will check if your tubes are blocked, scar tissue or fibroids. It’s good info to know as it can make a big difference in what treatment is right for you.

But, if you can’t afford the testing, then you can’t afford any of the procedures. But you can’t have the procedures without the testing. Have you miscarried? Do you ovulate? How long are your cycles? How long have you been trying? There’s too many factors to assume anything.

how long have you been trying naturally? will they let you do payments on the $3000? if you have been trying for over a year on your own and haven't succeeded in getting pregnant, you should definitely continue going to the re. me and my husband were together for 9 years, didn't use birth control, went to an re last January, did 5 rounds of iui's (That didn't work), and now have switched re doctors, and we are starting ivf in may. So I know the struggle and it's best to not wait until you're older.
