When I was in cosmetology school they taught us that it was safe use semi permanent instead of permanent but due to hormones your hair color may not take like it should may turn out different color than you thought but that was also long time ago I think the only other thing is if smells bother you may make you feel sick it did to some girls in my class that were pregnant as soon as I'm not nauseated I'm going to color mine or least do root touchup .. you could always call dr office and ask to be sure tho 😀

I'm a cosmetologist. I have LOTS of pregnant woman that come sit in my chair. The only thing to be worried about is the smell. It can be very irritating or nauseating to some. But as far as hair color, there's a very very low chance of it not turning the way it should. Bleach can be something to stay away from but not many people apply it directly to the scalp so and not in mass quantities so, highlights and all that should be fine:) I went from Black hair, to white blonde during my last pregancy and everything was fine. Taking prenatal vitamins makes your hair amazingly strong and thicker too so, I felt that helped with my damage control haha. But if you are concerned, just ask your stylist to do a test strand to put you at ease. they will be more than happy to make you comfortable and enjoy the pampering experience:)
