couple questions

so, I had a SUPER heavy period that lasted for 24 days... it stayed SUPER heavy the whole time... my doctor prescribed a 10 day dose of Provera ro help make the bleeding stop and that did not help it to slow down or stop....so then I had an appointment on Friday to do an ultrasound to check things out all the while still bleeding very heavy... the ultrasound showed ovaries within normal limits, a thin endometrial lining (so the bleeding should stop soon), and some bloodwork.... since I was still bleeding and the provera didnt stop the bleeding at the time I was prescribed 21 day dose of provera. Finally today the bleeding stopped.... thank goodness.... have any of you ever had this happen?? or have any of you taken provera ro stop bleeding?? when should I expect a period after having one for 24 days??
