Do you recycle? (How you can help earthđ)
Iâm posting here because this is where this topic will get the most attention. Global warming is a real thing that is drastically affecting our earth. The ozone, which protects us from harmful rays and among other things, continues to deplete everyday. The Great Pacific garbage patch is now twice the size of Texas and still growing. Animals all over the world (most known are tigers, elephants, polar bears, etc) continue to lose there habitat to pollution or humans destroying their ecosystem. Several species go extinct everyday. We are hurting our earth and soon there will be nothing left. Here are some easy steps you can take to make our eldest th better:
1. Recycle!!!! Cardboard, any paper, soda cans, soup cans, plastic bottles. Some of this gets into the ocean and the rest of it gets burnt releasing chemicals into the air. Recycling paper also allows for less trees to get cut down which leaves them to produce more oxygen and provide an adequate ecosystem for other species.
2. Use less plastic. Yes, it can be recycled but even then itâs still not good for Earth. Maybe instead of grabbing a plastic water bottle, bring your own cup that you can refill throughout the day.
3. Carpool or even ride a bike! Less people driving around means less fossil fuels being burned and less pollutants going into the air.
4. Conserve water. This one is really easy. Just make sure your appliances arenât leaking or just turn the water off for a few minutes while youâre doing dishes instead of letting it run.
4. Use less electricity. Iâm sure everyoneâs parents has said, âwhy are all the lights on?! Are you paying the electricity bill?â Using less electric means less gas used to producing it as less pollutants going into the air. Also less expensive electricity bill đ
5. Compost! This one requires you to get a little dirty. Instead of wasting all your uneaten food, out it into a bin and tend to it for a few weeks. Youâll have nutrient rich soil that can be used for gardening.
6. Switch your light bulbs. I feel like most people have these already, but use Compact florescent light bulbs instead. Youâll save a lot more energy using those than regular ones. And if you have the money, you could switch to a motion sensor lights, that way if you forget to turn them off, theyâll turn themselves off.
These are just a few of the relatively easy steps you can take to help Earth and make a better home for future generations.
