Don’t Freak Out

Lori

So my husband and I just had our second daughter and I swear he forgot literally everything we freaked out about with our first. I thought I would share.

“Brick Dust” in girl babies they get sort of a period due to the hormones from mom. Don’t be alarmed if the diaper appears orange or even a little red. It is completely normal.

White discharge in vagina is also completely normal. It is not an infection but actually there to prevent infection. So don’t go crazy trying to clean it out.

Don’t cut their nails! My hospital actually has you sign a contract saying you will not cut their nails. Their nails are attached to the skin and you can cause cuts and infection by cutting them. Do not use your mouth either because there is so much bacteria in your mouth that you don’t want to pass to your newborn. (You can bite them later if you choose...some people do that)

These are the things that have popped up for us in the last two days. I am sure more will come up. And mamas feel free to add some lesser known facts that might ease a new mom’s mind (or even a veteran mom who has forgotten)
