Tissue that doesnt expel during MC?

So I miscarried on March 13 at 5 weeks pregnant. I haven't had a period since. I only bled for 4 days. I was wondering if you had a miscarriage, if you have unexpelled tissue would you get positives on a pregnancy test? 
My OBGYN had done blood work on me and my HCG went back down to normal. So she didn't seem concerned. But since I haven't started my period I'm scared that I have unexpelled tissue or something.

Sorry for your loss. Did you pass any clots? At only 5 weeks there wouldn't be that much tissues, especially if the pregnancy had failed to progress very far as is often what happens in MC. If your HCG is down it's unlikely that you have retained tissues. My period took 6 weeks to come back after MC

There can be cells in there that hopefully dissolve but if not they may ask you to do a D & C. if you do this. ask them to be very gentle as you want to make sure they don't scar anything. Some OBs are not careful and implantation becomes difficult.

My OB is going to do an ultrasound next Tuesday to make sure my uterus is empty. You may need to do that?
