a year old and I've always used whole milk.

9 months only because he would literally projectile vomit 3/4 of his bottle but was still gaining weight so the doctor wasn’t concerned. One day I just got sick of the many many many changes of clothes and switched him and he immediately stopped with the vomiting. That was with my second with my first I waited until he was a year old.

I have my son a few sips to try like a week before he turned one but started giving regularly at 1 and weaned slowly after that

11 months. She weaned herself from the breast when she got sick at 10 months. I continued pumping for about three weeks, but I had a huge exam for work credentials coming up, so I allowed my supply to dry up (didn’t want to be distracted by pumping or engorgement during the exam). I had 6 gallons pumped milk in the freezer, too, so used that up around 11-11.5 months. Switched to whole milk gradually starting at 11 months.

My son is allergic to cow’s milk, but we switched from soy formula to soy milk at 12 months.

One year is what is medically suggested, and do it slowly. 4oz formula 2oz whole milk. Then keep adding more milk and less formula every week. They need whole milk until at least two preferably 3 because the fat in it helps with brain development.
