Give your child a cell phone? My daughters school all the gr5s and up have phones and some in lower grades. My daughter always say "when im in grade 5 im going to get a phone too" I keep telling her no. the only reason she needs a phone before grade8 is if I feel she is mature enough to walk home after school by herself (depending on distance) by the time she is in grade five my youngest will be in kindergarten so ill still be walking/driving them to and from school and i think and social media before grade eight can be more harmful than good.
