Prolonged Period

I normally have 4-5 day periods like clockwork. Once in 2015, I had a 2 week period and got on birth control to stop it. Birth control treated me rough, so I stopped taking it. In February I had a 9 day period. But this month I had a light period then another started 3 days later and now I’m still bleeding over 2 weeks later. Does anyone know what may be wrong? I do have a doctors appointment tomorrow, but I figured I’d ask on here too.
