*Not my situation* I was catching up on shows and two characters who were dating went on a "break." The guy had some drinks and kissed someone else and the girl got mad. He says he did nothing wrong because she said they were on a break and he didn't have sex.

Is a "break" the same as a breakup?

Is the kiss cheating or would it be only if it were sex?

Does she have a right to be mad?

I say she asked for a break, so at that point they were no longer in a committed exclusive relationship; she can't control what does does nor should she be mad. A break doesn't mean they were getting back together for sure.
