Engagement or Elope?

My boyfriend and I have been together almost 2 years. We’ve talked about getting married for awhile and I know he’s bought a ring. 
However, now he’s saying he might want to skip engagement completely and go right to eloping. I love this idea the only problem is I really looked forward to getting engaged, showing off my ring and telling family members. 
I absolutely love him, it’s not a deal breaker AT ALL. I want to marry this man. 
I just want to know if I’m being ridiculous wanting to be a fiancé before being a wife. 🤷🏻‍♀️

You can compromise by getting engaged and then a couple weeks or so later after the excitement has worn off you can elope... totally up to yall though

I don’t see any reason why you couldn’t be engaged and then elope.

you can do a similar thing to what I’m doing.
we got engaged on January 1 and everyone knows it. 
and we are having a planned elopement this month. there will only be two people there to help us with our elopement ceremony. 
we are having a wedding celebration but it will be a month after we get married. We will be announcing our marriage and the celebration after we elope.

Me and my husband got engaged feb 16th and were married by March 30th. I wanred to just elope but that was the soonest the judge could get us in. I didn’t care about any of that tho, just who I was marrying! Just compromise and talk it out
