Constipation catastrophe... I'm in disbelief!

Had to rush my 9 month old to ER this morning because he started to poop and couldn't. Not only could he not, but his little butt hole was stretched out larger than a half dollar because some stool was stuck. I first tried helping by breaking the piece of so his little butt wasn't overstretched and to give him pain relief...he was screaming like I've never heard a baby scream... I could see more stool, but when I tried to help I could feel how large it really was and freaked. I tried gasoline and a qtip (stupid nurse at pediatrician office didn't believe me that I thought it was too big to pass). He only got worse and so I took him to urgent care...who quickly told me to go straight to emergency room. The pediatrician there tried to manually break it up with her pinky (and failed). two glycerin suppositories later, this came out of my baby boy (Yes, it's almost as wide as his diaper). He screamed during the pushing and after (for almost 30 minutes) ...it clearly hurt coming out. It was almost 3 inch8es wide at its most narrow point

(They wrote him a prescription for a laxative... to take for a month than wean him off)

I am still in shock that it was humanly possible for him to push this out and not damage anything!
