Full Bladder For Ultrasound!??

Question

My 16 week ultrasound is tomorrow and my doctor or doctors office didn’t give me any instructions to have a full bladder. They were already closed when I got off work so I didn’t get to ask them 😩
My husband said I should just go having to pee and that way I’m prepared either way.. what he doesn’t understand is how uncomfortable it is to hold your pee in when you’re about to pee your pants 😂
If you had to drink before your ultrasound how much do you recommend I drink? We are expecting to find out gender tomorrow so I definitely want to have a good look at baby!

My doctor always recommends not full, but not empty either! And to just drink a lot of water for a couple of days before so it’s clear.

Thanks everyone! I called and spoke with the nurse this morning and she said that I don’t have to have a full bladder, but I’m going to go with one just in case 😂👌🏼 team no trust lol

At 16 weeks it’s very unlikely that you would need a full bladder. They usually do this to get a better picture early on

I would go having to cause when I scheduled my 20 week ultrasound they told me to have a full bladder

I’ve always been told to drink 32 oz an hour before the ultrasound. I just scheduled my anatomy scan and I didn’t get instructions  but plan to do it.

I had to do this too. Once they get their measurements of what they need, they had me pee, and then continue the ultrasound.

I was told 32oz of water or clear liquids before the ultrasound. What I do is I drink some but not enough that I have to pee.. Until I'm on my way and I'm there waiting.  That way I am not in the car having to pee. Worked like a charm. My dating ultrasound they had me pee thinking they were doing a transvaginal. When they realized I was 11+ weeks they did abdominal and we could see the baby just fine. Maybe not as clear but was still able to see him/her.
